About Woodside Park
Attracting buyers of all ages looking for a laid-back lifestyle with good connections into central London, much of Woodside Park is made up by a garden suburb which was developed on the western side of North Finchley.
A short history
Once part of a country estate belonging to the Peacock family, the first notable building to go up in the area was Woodside House in Whetstone, built in 1840. Woodside Park station opened in 1872 and it was after that the developers began to lay out new roads. Progress was slow and it wasn't until the late 1920s when Fred Ingram decided to create a 100-acre garden suburb on the other side of the railway line with three-bedroom semi-detached houses in a variety of architectural styles - these remain popular family houses today.
Green spaces and going out
With Totteridge and its famous common to the north, riding stables and two golf courses, there are plenty of areas to take part in sports or enjoy the great outdoors. Most of the shopping and eating out action takes place on Tally Ho Corner which is a short walk or a quick bus ride away.
Transport
Woodside Park Underground station is on the High Barnet branch of the Northern Line (Zone 4). Trains to central London take 28 mins.
